Junior Automation Specialist

JHC Consulting is currently supporting a European regulatory body with an extensive review of governance frameworks and operational protocols. In support of this mandate, we are looking for a Junior Automation Specialist to assist our principals in the collection, organization, and preliminary analysis of large document sets. This role exists to ensure that our internal research processes are as precise and efficient as the memoranda we eventually produce for our clients. As a firm that prioritizes the written word over verbal discussion, your task will be to build the technical bridges that allow our analysts to focus on deep reading and synthesis. This is a full-time, permanent position conducted entirely through a remote work model.

The Role
In this position, your primary focus is the technical support of our advisory mandates. You will not be building consumer-facing products. Instead, you will create internal tools and scripts that help our team manage the volume of information we receive from the European regulatory body we are advising. The work involves setting up automated workflows to ingest, categorize, and flag specific data points within thousands of pages of internal records and public filings. You will spend a significant portion of your time ensuring data integrity so that our principals can rely on the accuracy of the sources they use in their signed memoranda. While the work is technical, the end goal is always the production of clear, written counsel. You will be expected to document your processes with the same level of care and clarity that we apply to our client-facing work.

What You Bring
This is an entry-level role, and we prioritize intellectual discipline and a high standard of written English over specific years of professional experience. We are looking for an individual who understands that automation serves the needs of the analyst, not the other way around. You should have a basic proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript and an interest in how automated systems can support qualitative research. The ability to look at a complex manual process and identify a logical way to automate it is essential. Because we are a remote firm, you must possess the maturity to manage your own schedule and the clarity to communicate technical concepts to non-technical principals. A university degree in a field that requires rigorous logic or structured writing is preferred, though we are open to candidates from various academic backgrounds who can demonstrate clear thinking.
