We are looking for a Scrum Master Intern to help organize and facilitate the workflows for a regional fintech provider currently expanding its service offerings. This role focuses on maintaining the tempo of technical and commercial work while ensuring that the team remains clear on its immediate objectives.
About Blue Oak Consulting
Blue Oak Consulting provides independent advisory on pricing, portfolio economics, capital allocation, and acquisition assumptions. We are not a traditional consulting firm focused on broad transformation programs or high level strategy decks. Instead, we interrogate specific commercial decisions where the financial stakes are high and the existing narrative is not sufficient. Our team looks past corporate language and P&L complexity to identify where value is leaking or capital is trapped. We work across sectors like software, manufacturing, and healthcare to test whether the assumptions behind a growth plan or an acquisition actually hold under pressure. We are a small, principal led firm where the people who do the work are the ones accountable for the results. We do not take transaction contingent fees, which allows us to be completely honest about whether the economics of a decision make sense. Our goal is to provide clarity through financial discipline and a healthy amount of skepticism. We stay through the execution phase because decisions that look sound in theory often fail when they meet real world friction.
The Role
You will work in a fully remote environment as part of a principal led team that values clarity and directness. Your main goal is to help the team stay disciplined in its approach to project execution during this fintech expansion. This is not about managing people, but about managing the process and clearing the path so that our advisors can focus on the underlying economics of the client decisions. You will spend your time observing how projects move from theory to execution and finding ways to remove the friction that slows down decision making.

What You Will Be Doing
- Coordinating daily standups to identify where work is stalling or where assumptions need testing.
- Maintaining the project backlog for the fintech expansion project to ensure all tasks align with the broader commercial goals.
- Helping the team prioritize tasks based on financial impact rather than just technical convenience.
- Identifying friction points in the execution phase and working with senior principals to resolve them.
- Tracking team progress using basic metrics to help predict timelines for different phases of the advisory project.
- Facilitating retrospective sessions to discuss what worked and what did not in our recent commercial assessments.
- Assisting in the preparation of internal updates that summarize project status without using corporate fluff.
- Ensuring that documentation regarding client decisions and financial models is organized and accessible to the whole team.
- Monitoring the flow of information between different team members to ensure no one is waiting on a response to move forward.
- A recently completed degree or current enrollment in business, project management, finance, or a related field.
- Basic familiarity with Agile or Scrum principles, even if you do not have a formal certification yet.
- A natural curiosity for how businesses work and a willingness to ask questions when things do not make sense.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to keep track of many small details at once.
- Comfort working in a fully remote setting where proactive communication is the primary way we stay connected.
- A direct communication style and the ability to speak clearly about progress and delays.
- Proficiency with standard productivity tools and a willingness to learn how we use them to track complex financial projects.
- A disciplined approach to work and the ability to follow through on small tasks until they are finished.
- A fully remote work environment that offers flexibility in how you manage your day to day schedule.
- Direct access to senior principals who have deep experience in pricing, capital allocation, and commercial advisory.
- Practical experience in project coordination within a high stakes advisory firm focusing on the fintech sector.
- A competitive pay structure that is attractive for an internship role in the current market.
- Training on how to apply structured project management to financial consulting and economic analysis.
- A culture that values honesty, evidence, and logical thinking over corporate politics.
- The opportunity to see how complex financial decisions are executed in the real world.
