Deaf Support Teaching Assistant – Newham

The opportunity

A supportive SEN school in Newham is recruiting a teaching assistant to improve classroom access and communication for deaf pupils and those with hearing impairment.

What you will do

• Reinforce instructions using clear visual and communication strategies.
• Support access to lesson content, group work and school routines.
• Check hearing-support equipment in line with agreed procedures.
• Share observations with teachers and specialist colleagues.

What you will bring

• Experience supporting deaf pupils or learners with communication needs.
• British Sign Language skills are welcomed but not essential.
• QTS is not required for this classroom-support role.
