Summary

Shropshire Council is in search of a seasoned Children's Safeguarding Review Lead to collaborate with the Principal Social Worker (PSW) and the Service Manager for Quality Assurance. The role is pivotal in executing high-standard safeguarding reviews, learning initiatives, and improvement activities within Children's Services. This specialized position emphasizes extracting insights from safeguarding incidents, rapid reviews, and both local and national safeguarding reviews, including domestic homicide and child death reviews. The successful candidate will be instrumental in pinpointing learning opportunities, managing review activities, sharing best practices, and fostering service enhancements throughout the workforce.

Responsibilities

• Assist the PSW and Service Manager with issues related to the Shropshire Safeguarding Community Partnership (SSCP).
  
• Organize and document Safeguarding Incident Notification Meetings with statutory partners.
  
• Oversee the review of records for:
  • Rapid Reviews
    
  • Domestic Homicide Reviews (DHRs)
    
  • Safeguarding Adult Reviews (SARs)
    
  • Anti-Social Behaviour Case Reviews
    
• Prepare:
  • Scoping Forms
    
  • Information Management Reports (IMRs)
    
  • Impact Chronologies
    
  • Review documentation
    
• Support and engage in:
  • Local Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews
    
  • Rapid Reviews
    
  • Learning Reviews
    
  • Multi-agency safeguarding reviews
    
• Represent the PSW and Service Manager in review meetings and panels.
  
• Present data and engage in discussions on risk, learning, and service enhancement.
  
• Participate in:

  • Quality Assurance and Performance Meetings
    
• Act as a deputy for the Service Manager for Quality Assurance when necessary.
  

Child Death Review Responsibilities

• Serve as the Children's Social Care representative at the Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin Child Death Overview Panel (CDOP).
  
• Attend:

• Collect and present information for Children's Social Care.
  
• Coordinate actions and ensure integration of learning into practice.
