Senior Civil Engineer (Engineering)

Our client is seeking an seeking an experienced and technically strong Senior Civil Engineer to oversee the planning, design, execution, and supervision of civil engineering and construction projects.

The successful candidate will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with approved engineering standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, coordinate, and supervise civil engineering and construction projects from inception to completion.

Review engineering drawings, designs, BOQs, specifications, and technical documents.

Supervise contractors, subcontractors, site engineers, and other technical personnel.

Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved designs, quality standards, and project specifications.

Conduct site inspections and identify technical issues, defects, and potential project risks.

Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, project managers, consultants, and other stakeholders.

Prepare and review project schedules, progress reports, and technical documentation.

Monitor project costs, materials, manpower, and resource utilization.

Ensure construction activities comply with relevant building codes, HSE requirements, and industry standards.

Provide technical solutions to construction challenges and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

Review and approve material specifications and ensure proper material utilization.

Track project progress against milestones and communicate delays or risks to management.

Liaise with clients, consultants, government authorities, and other project stakeholders where required.

Support the preparation of tenders, technical proposals, cost estimates, and project documentation.

Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and site personnel.

Requirements

Required Experience & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

7–10 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, construction, or infrastructure projects.

Proven experience managing or supervising construction projects.

Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and project execution.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Project/Primavera P6, and Microsoft Office.

Good understanding of construction drawings, BOQs, quantity take-offs, and technical specifications.

Strong knowledge of quality control, HSE, and construction standards.

Excellent project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Strong communication and stakeholder-management abilities.

Ability to work independently and effectively lead technical teams.

Professional certification/membership with COREN is highly desirable/required.

Preferred Candidate Profile

A hands-on Senior Civil Engineer with strong site experience, project leadership capability, and a proven track record of delivering civil/construction projects successfully.
