Responsibilities
- Patients with eye conditions include glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and other vision impairments need receive ophthalmic nursing care.
- Treat eye diseases by administering drugs in the form of drops, ointments, and injections.
- To evaluate a patient's eyesight and eye health, conduct diagnostic procedures such tonometry and visual field tests.
- Inform patients on their eye care regimens and treatment options.
- Track patient development and inform ophthalmologists for additional assessment.
- Provide patients having eye surgery with preoperative and after care.
- Help ophthalmologists with operations and assessments.
- Keep thorough patient records and keep track of all the care you give.
- To guarantee that the patient receives the best care possible, coordinate with other medical professionals.
- Offer patients and their families support and direction.
Requirements
- A registered general nurse with NMBI on the live register
- A minimum of three years of acute care nursing experience after graduation is required.
- Strong morals and dedication to patient safety and excellence.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Flexible having a track record of multitasking.
- Current understanding of general surgery and ophthalmology procedures, both before and after treatment
- Self-driven and dedicated to continuous professional growth
