Architect - Furniture and Interior Decor

Our client is  a leader in the Nigerian interior design, furniture manufacturing, stainless-steel manufacturing and luxury furniture sector, and are looking for an Architect. The Architect is responsible for developing design solutions, preparing detailed drawings, and coordinating with clients and the factory to ensure the successful execution of furniture and interior projects. This role bridges creative vision with technical execution to deliver functional, aesthetic, and client-specific solutions ranging from specific product execution to entire project scope completion.

Job Responsibilities

● Meet with clients to understand their requirements and present customized proposals, including space planning, furniture layouts, and interior design concepts.
● Conduct site visits to take accurate measurements and develop detailed as-built drawings/3D renderings.
● Prepare quotes and cost estimates based on project scope, materials, and client expectations.
● Supervise & project manage ongoing site works to ensure alignment with approved design, specifications, and deadlines.
● Prepare comprehensive job orders and production drawings to guide the production team in the manufacturing process.
● Liaise with the production team to ensure furniture is produced to specifications provided, with attention to quality and delivery timelines.
● Coordinate with vendors, contractors and in house installation team members to ensure seamless project execution.

● Keep an active log of ongoing jobs to ensure timely completion

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Furniture Design, or Interior Design.
  
• Additional certifications in CAD, 3D Visualization, or Project Management will be a plus.
  
• 3–7 years’ proven experience in architectural design, interior décor, or furniture design projects.
  
• Demonstrated portfolio of completed interior/furniture projects showcasing creativity, functionality, and attention to detail.
  
• Experience collaborating with production managers, carpenters, and decorators to bring designs to life.
  
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, 3ds Max, Lumion, or similar 3D modeling/rendering software.
  
• Strong understanding of space planning, ergonomics, and material application (wood, metal, upholstery, laminates, paints, glass, etc.).
  
• Ability to prepare detailed technical drawings, shop drawings, and specifications for furniture and interior projects. Familiarity with sustainable and cost-effective design practices.
