Fireweave is building an AI Release Engineer for modern software teams — helping engineering organizations understand release risk, blast radius, and rollout safety before code hits production.

About the role

We're looking for a staff-level full stack / backend engineer to join the founding team and help define both the product and technical foundation from the ground up. You'll work across frontend, backend, agent workflows, integrations, data systems, and the context graph that powers Fireweave's release intelligence.

This is a high-ownership role for someone who can operate at staff level technically while still staying hands-on: making architecture decisions, building core systems, mentoring future engineers, and translating ambiguous customer problems into simple, reliable product experiences.

What you'll do

• Own major product and architecture decisions across the stack
  
• Build core product experiences across frontend, backend, and agent workflows
  
• Design integrations with GitHub, CI/CD systems, feature flags, deployments, and observability tools
  
• Build scalable systems for context ingestion, reasoning, and release intelligence
  
• Work directly with founders and early customers to shape product direction
  
• Set engineering standards, technical patterns, and culture for the early team
  

Ideal profile

• Staff-level or strong senior full stack / backend engineering experience
  
• Deep ownership across product, architecture, and execution
  
• Strong backend and systems thinking, with ability to build polished product experiences
  
• Comfortable with ambiguity, fast iteration, and 0 to 1 company building
  
• Experience with dev tools, infra, observability, CI/CD, distributed systems, or AI agents is a strong plus
