Financial Systems Analyst

A well-established professional services organization is seeking a Financial Systems Analyst to support and enhance its financial technology environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who combines financial systems knowledge with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

The Financial Systems Analyst will serve as an important link between Finance, Billing, and technology, providing day-to-day systems support while helping improve business processes, reporting, testing, and system functionality.

This position is primarily remote for candidates located in the Philadelphia region, with occasional in-office attendance expected.

What You'll Do

Financial Systems Support

• Provide day-to-day support for the organization's financial management system, including time entry, billing, client/matter setup, and financial reporting.
  
• Troubleshoot system issues involving billing rules, matter configurations, financial data flows, and other system functionality.
  
• Assist with system administration activities, including user provisioning, security role maintenance, and reference data updates.
  
• Resolve routine system issues and thoroughly document and escalate more complex problems when needed.
  

Business Process & Systems Analysis

• Partner closely with Accounting and Billing teams to understand and improve processes involving timekeeping, billing cycles, collections, and revenue recognition.
  
• Document business processes, workflows, billing arrangements, and system dependencies.
  
• Gather requirements for system changes and enhancements and evaluate their potential impact on downstream processes.
  
• Help translate business needs into practical system solutions.
  

Testing & System Enhancements

• Support system upgrades, patches, configuration changes, and other enhancements.
  
• Perform functional, regression, and data-validation testing.
  
• Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including preparing test cases, supporting users, and validating results after implementation.
  
• Help ensure system changes maintain billing accuracy and appropriate financial controls.
  

Reporting & Data Support

• Support standard and ad hoc financial and billing reporting.
  
• Use basic SQL queries to extract, reconcile, and validate financial data.
  
• Perform data-integrity checks and help identify discrepancies between systems, billing outputs, and financial reports.
  

Documentation & User Support

• Create and maintain clear documentation for financial systems and related business processes.
  
• Provide systems-focused support to Finance and Billing users.
  
• Translate user questions and business problems into actionable technical findings.
  
• Contribute to internal knowledge resources and continuous process improvement.
  

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
  
• Approximately 3–6 years of experience in financial systems, accounting systems administration, systems analysis, or a related area.
  
• Experience supporting financial or billing systems within a law firm or professional services environment strongly preferred.
  
• Experience with 3E is highly desirable.
  
• Working knowledge of financial and/or legal billing processes.
  
• Ability to work with basic SQL for data extraction, reconciliation, and validation.
  
• Experience with system testing, UAT, troubleshooting, or system enhancements.
  
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
  
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and nontechnical users.
  
• Organized, flexible, and comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  
• Self-directed and capable of working effectively in a primarily remote environment.

Compensation: Approximately $115,000–$120,000, with some flexibility depending on experience.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 9:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Work Arrangement: Primarily remote; candidates should reside in the Philadelphia region and be able to attend the office periodically.
