Credit Controller
Hybrid Working Available – Leeds City Centre
Salary: Up to £33,000 (depending on experience)
35 hours per week

We are looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join a well-established and growing business based in Leeds City Centre. You’ll take ownership of your own portfolio of accounts, managing the end-to-end credit control process while building strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
This is a varied role within an experienced and approachable finance team, reporting to a supportive Credit Manager who encourages ownership, development and progression.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Credit Controller, you’ll be responsible for managing your own portfolio of customer accounts and ensuring outstanding debt is collected efficiently and effectively.
Your role will involve:
- Managing a portfolio of customer accounts and the full end-to-end credit control process
- Chasing outstanding invoices by telephone and email
- Building strong and professional relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
- Investigating and resolving invoice and payment queries
- Posting and allocating customer payments accurately
- Producing invoices and customer statements
- Reviewing aged debt and providing detailed commentary where required
- Completing bank reconciliations and supporting cash allocation
- Working closely with internal teams to resolve account and payment queries
- Monitoring outstanding balances and taking appropriate action to minimise aged debt
- Working to agreed deadlines, targets and service levels
- Supporting the wider finance team during busy periods, including month end
This is an opportunity to take genuine ownership of your ledger while working closely with an experienced team and supportive Credit Manager.
What We’re Looking For:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Previous experience working in an end-to-end Credit Control role
- Experience managing your own ledger or portfolio of customer accounts
- Experience dealing with high-value and/or high-volume accounts
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- The ability to prioritise effectively and manage your own workload
- Good Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Experience working to deadlines, targets and service levels
- A proactive and solution-focused approach
- The confidence to deal professionally with challenging queries and payment issues

- A salary of up to £33,000, depending on experience

- Hybrid working – initially 4 days in the office for approximately 3 months during training, moving to 3 days in the office and 2 days from home
