Senior Software Developer

We’re looking for a Senior Java Developer to own the development, maintenance, and production support of enterprise Java applications and integrations in a telecommunications and value-added services environment.

You’ll build and support the systems that keep messaging and data flowing reliably between platforms, while making sure changes don’t break downstream services.

What you’ll do:

• Design, develop, and enhance Java-based enterprise applications.
  
• Work extensively with J2EE and Spring.
  
• Build and maintain enterprise integrations using Apache Camel.
  
• Develop and support messaging integrations with RabbitMQ and/or ActiveMQ.
  
• Write and optimise SQL queries for performance and reliability.
  
• Work in Linux environments and troubleshoot production issues.
  
• Participate in testing, code reviews, and deployments.
  
• Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders.
  
• Ensure applications remain stable, scalable, and maintainable.
  
• Document changes, configuration, and handover notes so others can support the work.
  

Requirements

Must-have experience:

• 5+ years of professional Java development experience.
  
• Strong, production-level Java / J2EE and Spring experience.
  
• Solid SQL skills (writing and optimising queries).
  
• Linux experience.
  
• Hands-on experience with enterprise integrations.
  
• Experience with RabbitMQ and/or ActiveMQ.
  
• Apache Camel experience.
  
• Good understanding of software development practices (testing, code review, deployment).
  

Nice to have:

• Telecommunications or OSS/BSS experience.
  
• Experience in high-volume transactional environments.
  
• Production support experience.
  
• Additional messaging or integration technologies.
  
• Basic HTML/CSS.
  
• Exposure to monitoring, logging, and alerting in production.
