Financial Controller (Relocation to Kenya Required)

About the Opportunity

One of our clients is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead finance operations for their Avocado Oil Division in Nairobi. The group runs a fully integrated supply chain across eight sister companies and an in-house freight division. Ideal candidates come from an export, logistics, FMCG, or agriculture background.

Key Responsibilities

🔺 Financial Oversight & Planning

Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company goals, monitor cash flow and capital allocation, oversee inventory management systems

🔺 Accounting & Reporting

Prepare accurate financial statements, reports, budgets, and forecasts

🔺 Compliance & Audit

Ensure compliance with IFRS and statutory requirements, manage internal and external audits

🔺 Cost Management

Control and optimize departmental costs, identify financial risks and recommend corrective actions

🔺 Team Leadership

Lead and mentor the finance team, promote accountability and performance

Candidate Requirements

🔺 7+ years in financial management, including 3+ years in a senior role

🔺 Strong proficiency in IFRS and financial reporting standards

🔺 Preferred industry background: export, FMCG, logistics, or agriculture

🔺 CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification (MBA is a plus)

🔺 Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills

🔺 Must be based in or willing to relocate to Nairobi, Kenya
