Senior Group Life Underwriter 80-100% (m/f/d)

Are you an experienced Group Underwriter with a strong background in group insurance or reinsurance? For an internationally operating insurance company in Zurich, we are looking for an experienced professional to assess complex underwriting cases, support local teams across multiple markets and contribute to profitable business growth.

Responsibilities

• Assess complex group underwriting referrals across international markets, considering overall risk, pricing, claims experience, policy terms and reinsurance aspects
  
• Provide expert advice and guidance to local underwriting teams on challenging and non-standard business cases
  
• Critically review underwriting proposals and develop practical solutions for complex risks, special benefits and market-specific requirements
  
• Support the development and maintenance of underwriting philosophies, authority frameworks, standards and technical guidelines
  
• Contribute to technical underwriting reviews and assurance activities, identifying weaknesses and agreeing on appropriate improvements
  
• Support selected product, proposition and pricing initiatives
  
• Share expertise and strengthen underwriting capabilities across international teams
  

Requirements

• At least eight years of professional experience in group pricing and/or scheme underwriting within life, disability and health insurance or reinsurance
  
• In-depth understanding of group protection products and scheme underwriting principles
  
• Broad exposure to different markets, products and propositions, with the ability to adapt to diverse business environments and cultures
  
• Strong analytical skills and sound judgement, including the ability to make confident decisions in complex situations or with incomplete data
  
• Proven ability to challenge underwriting and pricing proposals constructively and develop practical, commercially sound solutions
  
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to explain technical decisions clearly and collaborate effectively with local teams
  
• Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage
  
• Actuarial training is considered an asset
