Insurance Operations Associate

Wert Group is hiring an Insurance Operations Associate for our work with insurance carriers and agencies. You will review claims and policy files, map how cases move from first notice to payment, and help project teams find delays and errors. The position is full-time and remote from anywhere in the United States.

Wert Group is a management consulting firm in Boston. We advise owners and management teams on strategy, organization design, operating models and governance, including companies with operations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Responsibilities

• Review samples of claims and policy files and record how each case was handled
• Map underwriting and claims workflows, including hand-offs and approval steps
• Measure cycle times, reopen rates and error rates from client data
• Check files against the client's procedures and state rules, and note the gaps
• Prepare tables and charts for client reports and steering committee papers
• Take notes in interviews with adjusters, underwriters and service teams
• Keep the project's document and data request log up to date

Requirements

• Experience in insurance, claims, underwriting support or a similar operations role, internships included
• Careful with details and comfortable reading long documents
• Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong written English

Nice to Have

• A property and casualty or life and health license
• A bachelor's degree in business, finance or economics
• German

The Team
You will work with the consultants and the project lead on each engagement, and with claims and underwriting managers on the client side.
