We are recruiting for a School Catering Assistant to work within a busy primary school in East Grinstead.

This is a daytime, Monday-to-Friday position supporting the school kitchen team with the preparation and service of meals to pupils and staff.

Duties

• Assisting with the preparation of school meals
  
• Serving meals to pupils and staff
  
• Setting up dining and service areas
  
• Supporting the kitchen team during lunch service
  
• Washing up and cleaning kitchen equipment
  
• Cleaning work surfaces, kitchen and dining areas
  
• Following food hygiene and allergen procedures
  
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  

Requirements

Food Safety Level 2 certificate – essential
Allergen Awareness certificate – essential
Enhanced DBS preferred
Previous catering, kitchen or school-meals experience preferred
Good understanding of food hygiene standards
Reliable and punctual
Comfortable working within a school environment
Able to work Monday to Friday for the duration of the assignment
