FREELANCE MEDIA RELATIONS SPECIALIST – HYBRID – JOHANNESBURG | UP TO R575 PER HOUR

A leading global communications and public relations agency is building a talent pool of experienced freelance Media Relations Specialists to support client campaigns and communication requirements.

Key responsibilities:

• Build and maintain relationships with journalists and relevant media contacts
  

• Prepare media releases, pitches, briefing documents and other media materials
  

• Identify suitable media opportunities and compelling story angles
  

• Coordinate interviews, media briefings and press engagements
  

• Manage media enquiries and support reputation-management initiatives
  

• Monitor media coverage and prepare reports
  

• Agency or multi-client experience is advantageous
  

• Availability to work on a hybrid basis in Dunkeld, Johannesburg
  

Requirements

• Relevant media relations, PR or corporate communications experience
  

• An established network of South African media contacts
  

• Strong writing, pitching and relationship-management skills
  

• Excellent knowledge of the South African media landscape
  

• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
  

• Agency or multi-client experience is advantageous
  

• Availability to work on a hybrid basis in Dunkeld, Johannesburg
