Grit Blaster

• Perform abrasive blasting (grit blasting) on steel structures, piping, vessels, and equipment.
  
• Prepare surfaces to the required cleanliness and profile standards (e.g., SSPC/NACE requirements).
  
• Inspect blasting equipment before use and ensure proper operation and maintenance.
  
• Set up blasting equipment, hoses, compressors, and related tools safely.
  
• Follow work permits, job safety analyses (JSA), and offshore safety procedures.
  
• Monitor blasting materials and ensure proper handling and storage.
  
• Assist coating and painting teams following surface preparation activities.
  
• Maintain housekeeping standards in the work area.
  
• Report equipment defects, safety hazards, and operational issues to supervisors.
  
• Comply with company policies, environmental regulations, and offshore safety standards.
  

Requirements

• High School Certificate or equivalent.
  
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in abrasive blasting, preferably in offshore oil & gas, marine, or industrial environments.
  
• Knowledge of surface preparation standards and coating requirements.
  
• Experience working in challenging offshore conditions.
  
• Ability to read and understand work instructions and safety procedures.
  

Certifications

• Valid Offshore Survival Certificate (BOSIET/FOET as applicable).
  
• H2S Awareness Certificate.
  
• Medical Fitness Certificate for offshore work.
  
• Working at Height and Confined Space certification preferred.
