Part Time Early Childhood Education - Lead Teachers (Campus 1)

Location: Novastar Kids Co.\ FLSA Status: Non-Exempt\ Reports To: School Director\ Compensation: $20.00–$27.00 per hour (based on qualifications and experience)

Lead Teachers

Placement is based on your qualifications, experience, and our staffing needs.

Our center is open Monday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Scheduled shifts may vary.

Position Summary

We are seeking caring, dependable, and enthusiastic educators to join our team. Teachers are responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom while supporting children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.

Floater teachers provide classroom coverage across multiple age groups and must be flexible and adaptable.

Essential Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and classroom activities.

• Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

• Supervise children at all times, both indoors and outdoors.

• Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

• Provide routine care such as diapering, toileting assistance, feeding, and maintaining classroom hygiene, as appropriate for the assigned age group.

• Maintain accurate attendance and classroom documentation.

• Follow all Colorado child care licensing regulations and company health and safety policies.

• Communicate professionally with families regarding children's progress and daily activities.

• Collaborate with other teachers and administrative staff.

• Float between classrooms as needed (Floater positions only) to maintain required staff-to-child ratios.

Minimum Qualifications

• Meet Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC) qualifications for the position.

• Colorado Shines PDIS 3.0 Level 2 (or ability to obtain within the required timeframe).

• Minimum two (2) years of experience in an early childhood education setting preferred.

• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before employment).

• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work with children and families from diverse backgrounds.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and actively engage in classroom activities throughout the day.

Pre-Employment Requirements

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of:

• Colorado and federal criminal background checks

• Fingerprinting, as required by Colorado law

• Verification of education and employment eligibility

• Any additional licensing requirements required by the Colorado Department of Early Childhood
