Construction Superintendent

Design Hire is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee commercial and institutional building projects. This position is responsible for coordinating onsite construction activities, leading field teams, and ensuring projects meet established scheduling, safety, and quality expectations. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in commercial general contracting with experience supporting educational facilities, municipal buildings, or other public sector construction.

Responsibilities

• Oversee onsite construction operations, directing subcontractors and field personnel to maintain productivity, quality, and schedule commitments.
  
• Coordinate trade activities, material deliveries, site logistics, and construction sequencing to support efficient project execution.
  
• Monitor construction progress, address field challenges, and work with project management teams to resolve scheduling conflicts and construction issues.
  
• Maintain jobsite safety standards, conduct field inspections, and ensure work is performed in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
  
• Lead coordination meetings, track project milestones, and support quality inspections, punch list completion, and project turnover.
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Superintendent experience with a commercial general contractor required.
  
• Procore experience required.
  
• Background in educational, municipal, institutional, public works, or similar commercial building projects strongly preferred.
  
• Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, subcontractor coordination, field supervision, and jobsite safety requirements.
  
• Experience managing renovations, additions, or new construction projects in active or operational facilities preferred.
  
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules while coordinating multiple trades.
  
• Familiarity with self-perform construction activities, particularly concrete operations, is a plus.
  
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills with the ability to maintain productive relationships across project teams.
