Summary
The Mid North Coast Local Health District is currently expanding its Mental Health Services at Coffs Harbour Health Campus and seeks two dedicated Staff Specialist Psychiatrists to join the team. This permanent, full-time role is pivotal in delivering high-quality clinical care, fostering professional development, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes within a complex healthcare environment. Based in a picturesque regional coastal location just a flight from Sydney, this position offers the opportunity to work within a supportive community while advancing the psychiatric standards of the district. The role encompasses the delivery of contemporary clinical management for a diverse range of mental health conditions, alongside a strong commitment to educating and mentoring junior medical officers and nursing staff.Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist psychiatric clinical services designed to achieve the best possible health outcomes for patients across the Mid North Coast Local Health District.
- Provide expert clinical management and guidance to staff and junior medical officers, including the delivery of education and training programs.
- Manage patient care within a complex clinical setting, utilizing modern assessment techniques and therapeutic approaches for a broad spectrum of psychiatric conditions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant NSW Health policies and directives, including those specific to Category A positions.
- Adhere to all occupational assessment, screening, and vaccination requirements as mandated by state health regulations.
Requirements
- Must hold current registration, or be eligible for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Psychiatrist.
- Must possess a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) or an equivalent specialist recognition credential.
- Candidates currently enrolled in the RANZCP Substantial Comparability Pathway are eligible to apply, provided they submit verified evidence of their comparability assessment or those eligible for the expedited pathway. .
- Must be willing to comply with all general employment requirements, including occupational health and safety standards related to immunization and screening.
