Steel Erection Supervisor

Operational Leadership & Sequencing: Manage daily activities of ironworkers, riggers, fitters, and welders. Review structural blueprints, piece marks, shop drawings, bolt/weld specs, and crane lift plans to sequence column/beam setting, metal decking, and secondary steel installation.

Safety Enforcement: Lead daily Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and toolbox talks. Maintain strict compliance with OSHA fall protection rules (100% tie-off at height), crane safety, and equipment inspections.

Quality Control & Surveying: Verify structural line, level, plumb, and elevation tolerances using alignment tools. Inspect high-strength bolt tensioning and field-welding quality.

Site Logistics & Documentation: Manage material offloading, staging, and crane positioning. Complete daily progress reports, headcount logs, and RFIs for drawing discrepancies or misfabricated steel.

Qualifications: 5+ years in structural steel erection and ironworking, including 2+ years in a supervisory/foreman role.

Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Construction, Certified Rigger/Signalperson, and current First Aid/CPR.

Technical & Physical Ability: Proven ability to read structural shop drawings, interpret crane load charts, comfortably work at elevated heights, and operate in varying weather conditions.
