SAP Test Automation Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experiencedSenior SAP Test Automation Engineerwith strong expertise in Tricentis Tosca and SAP enterprise applications to design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable, and reliable automated test solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA environments, a solid understanding of SAP business processes, and a proven track record of delivering automation solutions within large-scale ERP programs.

The role will focus on expanding automated test coverage across critical SAP business processes, improving testing efficiency through standardization and reusability, and supporting enterprise quality engineering initiatives. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional project teams, serve as a trusted automation advisor, and contribute to continuous improvement in SAP testing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain scalable and maintainable automated test suites using Tricentis Tosca for SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA environments.

• Create reusable and parameterized Tosca automation assets, including Modules, Test Cases, Test Templates, and Test Steps, to support multiple SAP initiatives.

• Develop and expand automated test coverage for critical end-to-end SAP business processes across relevant modules, including SD, MM, FI/CO, PP, WM/EWM, MDG, BW, Ariba, and related enterprise applications.

• Apply effective test data management practices to ensure the availability, accuracy, consistency, and reusability of test data across automation scenarios.

• Execute and support end-to-end business process testing, including SAP integrations, interfaces, and middleware components.

• Collaborate with SAP functional teams, business stakeholders, developers, quality assurance teams, and other cross-functional project members to understand requirements and deliver effective automation solutions.

• Contribute to automation framework standardization, asset reuse, and continuous improvement to enhance testing efficiency, reliability, and maintainability.

• Support test management and application lifecycle management activities using tools such as OpenText ALM AQM.

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support Agile/Scrum and DevOps practices, where applicable.

• Develop or maintain custom Tosca modules using programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python when required.

• Ensure automation solutions are stable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise testing standards and project delivery commitments.

• Where applicable, support testing in regulated and validated system environments, including adherence to relevant GxP requirements.

• Provide technical guidance and automation recommendations to stakeholders, helping improve enterprise SAP quality engineering capabilities.

• Manage competing priorities effectively while maintaining automation quality, delivery timelines, and agreed project commitments.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of5 years of experience in test automation, including at least2 years of hands-on experience with Tricentis Tosca.

• Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and reusable automated test suites for SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA environments.

• Strong understanding of SAP modules and associated business processes, including one or more of the following: SD, MM, FI/CO, PP, WM/EWM, MDG, BW, Ariba, or related enterprise applications.

• Strong hands-on experience creating reusable and parameterized Tosca automation assets, including Modules, Test Cases, Test Templates, and Test Steps.

• Solid understanding and practical experience with test data management practices.

• Experience working on large-scale ERP implementations, upgrades, transformation programs, or other enterprise SAP initiatives.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining automation quality, consistency, and delivery commitments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, life sciences, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or other regulated industries.

• Experience working in GxP-regulated environments and with validated computer systems.

• Familiarity with OpenText ALM AQM for application lifecycle management and test management.

• Experience testing SAP integrations, interfaces, middleware, and end-to-end business processes.

• Programming experience in Java, C#, Python, or similar languages to develop custom Tosca modules or extend automation capabilities when needed.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices.

• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and supporting continuous testing practices.
