Project Manager – Technology & Construction
Deployments
Summary of Role
Our dynamic client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex technology
deployments within large-scale commercial and public facilities. This role requires a
unique combination of project management, construction/site coordination, technology
implementation, and client leadership.
The Project Manager owns projects from post-sale handoff through planning, site
readiness, installation, configuration, testing, training, go-live, and final closeout. Deployments often involve the installation and integration of IoT sensors, gateways, digital signage, networking/connectivity, mobile applications, and cloud-
based software within active facilities. Projects may require coordination with airport
authorities, facility teams, general contractors, electrical contractors, low-voltage
contractors, IT/networking teams, janitorial partners, technology vendors, and other
stakeholders.
The Project Manager is ultimately accountable for ensuring projects are delivered on
time, within scope, within budget, technically ready, and with a high level of client
satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Project Ownership & Delivery
Own assigned projects from internal sales handoff through final client acceptance
and project closeout.
Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans including scope, schedule,
milestones, responsibilities, dependencies, risks, budget, installation activities,
training, go-live, and closeout.
Establish clear project milestones and proactively manage adherence to project
schedules.
Maintain accurate project documentation, status reports, action items, decision
logs, and project records.
Identify risks, delays, scope gaps, and potential roadblocks early and develop
corrective action plans before they impact delivery.
Manage multiple concurrent projects across different customers, locations, and
stages of implementation.
Drive projects forward independently rather than waiting for clients, vendors, or
internal departments to determine next steps.
Ensure all stakeholders understand upcoming deadlines, dependencies,
responsibilities, and required deliverables.
Construction; Site Coordination
Coordinate technology installations within active construction and operational
environments.
Review project plans, floor plans, site drawings, installation layouts, equipment
locations, and other project documentation as applicable.
Participate in site walks and pre-installation meetings to validate field conditions
and installation requirements.
Coordinate with general contractors, electrical contractors, low-voltage
contractors, facility teams, IT teams, and other trades to ensure installation
requirements are incorporated into the overall project schedule.
Understand construction sequencing and identify dependencies that may affect
technology installation or commissioning.
Coordinate site access, badging, security requirements, escorts, work hours,
loading/access requirements, staging areas, and other site logistics.
Confirm site readiness prior to mobilization, including power, network
connectivity, mounting locations, infrastructure, and required client-provided
resources.
Coordinate installation schedules and ensure field teams have the appropriate
equipment, documentation, access, and information before arriving onsite.
Monitor field installation progress and quickly escalate or resolve issues affecting
schedule, quality, safety, or scope.
Manage punch-list items through completion and ensure outstanding installation
issues are formally tracked and closed.
Technology Implementation
Manage technology deployments involving IoT devices, sensors, gateways,
digital signage, mobile applications, networking/connectivity, APIs/integrations,
and cloud-based software.
Coordinate closely with Technology, Implementation, Configuration,
Operations, Client Success, Purchasing, and Support teams.
Understand project technical requirements well enough to translate between
clients, contractors, field technicians, and technical teams.
Coordinate network and connectivity requirements with customer IT departments,
including Wi-Fi, cellular, ethernet, firewall, security, and related infrastructure
requirements when applicable.
Track equipment procurement, shipping, inventory, installation, activation, and
commissioning.
Ensure hardware is properly installed, communicating, configured, tested, and
reflected accurately within the platform.
Coordinate system configuration, user setup, data requirements, integrations,
dashboards, workflows, and other technical dependencies required for go-live.
Manage testing and commissioning activities and ensure identified technical
issues are assigned, tracked, escalated, and resolved.
Ensure projects transition cleanly from implementation into ongoing Client
Success and Technical Support.
Client & Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary client contact for assigned projects.
Establish project governance, communication cadence, meeting schedules,
escalation paths, and stakeholder responsibilities at project kickoff.
Lead client kickoff meetings, project reviews, construction/installation
coordination meetings, status calls, and closeout meetings.
Communicate project status clearly, including accomplishments, upcoming
milestones, risks, decisions required, delays, and responsible parties.
Build strong relationships with client executives, facility management, operations
teams, IT departments, contractors, and frontline stakeholders.
Manage client expectations professionally while protecting project scope,
schedule, budget, and contractual requirements.
Recognize potential changes in scope and ensure additional work is properly
documented, communicated, and approved before execution.
Identify opportunities for future phases, expanded scope, or additional TRAX
solutions and communicate opportunities internally.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Own the coordination between departments and ensure required information
moves between teams at the appropriate stage of the project.
Establish clear owners and deadlines for project tasks and hold internal and
external stakeholders accountable for commitments.
Escalate issues appropriately while bringing recommended solutions—not simply
reporting problems.
Conduct internal handoff meetings before implementation and formal operational
handoffs following go-live.
Ensure Sales commitments, contracts, statements of work, technical
requirements, and client expectations are understood by the delivery team.
Budget, Scope & Change Management
Manage project scope, schedule, budget, resources, and technical performance.
Monitor project costs and identify potential budget overruns before they occur.
Review contracts, proposals, statements of work, and project requirements to
ensure delivery aligns with what was sold.
Identify out-of-scope requests and coordinate change orders or scope
modifications as appropriate.
Maintain documentation of client decisions and approvals that affect project
scope, cost, or schedule.
Quality, Go-Live & Closeout
Develop and manage go-live readiness plans for assigned projects.
Confirm hardware, software, configuration, integrations, training, documentation,
and support requirements are complete prior to launch.
Coordinate user and operational training with appropriate TRAX teams.
Conduct project closeout and ensure outstanding punch-list items are resolved.
Ensure all final project documentation is organized and transferred to Client
Success and Technical Support.
Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned, process improvements,
and recurring risks.
Track project performance against defined success criteria and delivery
expectations.
