Schedule: 5 days per week, 7 hours per day
Position Overview
Our client, the Government of Nova Scotia, is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Clerk 2 (ADM03) to provide administrative and data-entry support.
The successful candidate will support the implementation of a new online database system, AMS, by entering and updating client information that was not successfully migrated from the legacy system. The role will also support the reissuance of a significant volume of Certificates of Qualification and identification cards following regulatory changes affecting certification renewal requirements for tradespeople.
This position is ideal for an individual with strong data-entry accuracy, administrative experience, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with established procedures and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
- Enter, update, and maintain accurate client information in the Agency Management System (AMS).
- Review and process client data that was not migrated from the legacy database system.
- Assist with the preparation and reissuance of Certificates of Qualification and identification cards.
- Verify information for accuracy, completeness, and consistency before processing.
- Perform general administrative and clerical duties in accordance with established policies, procedures, acts, rules, and regulations.
- Prepare, organize, and file correspondence and other documentation.
- Respond to general inquiries received by telephone and in person.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure proper document management.
- Assist with office administration, including maintaining office supply inventory and petty cash, as required.
- Distribute and manage inter-office mail and correspondence.
- Exercise sound judgment in selecting and applying appropriate work methods and procedures.
- Complete other related administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Qualifications- Completion of Grade 11 education, plus a minimum of two (2) years of related clerical or administrative experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
- Strong data-entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Previous experience in clerical, administrative, or office support roles.
- Ability to work with databases, electronic records, and administrative systems.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to follow established procedures, policies, and guidelines.
- Good judgment and the ability to determine the most appropriate approach to assigned tasks.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage repetitive and high-volume administrative tasks while maintaining accuracy.
- Proficiency with standard computer applications and office software.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision and contribute effectively as part of a team.
- Experience with high-volume data entry or data migration activities.
- Experience working with government, regulatory, certification, licensing, or administrative systems.
- Previous experience handling confidential or sensitive client information.
- Experience working in a fast-paced administrative environment with strict deadlines.
