MRO Quality Inspector – PNG Air

PNG Air is seeking an experienced MRO Quality Inspector to support its Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) operation in Port Moresby.
The position plays an important role in maintaining PNG Air’s safety and quality standards and supporting compliance across its Part 145 maintenance organisation. The successful candidate will work closely with the Quality Manager – MRO and other engineering personnel to promote a strong safety and quality culture. MRO Quality Inspector_10.05.2026
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct quality reviews and checklist-based inspections of Part 145 maintenance activities and facilities.
- Maintain records and databases of identified deficiencies.
- Report quality-standard deficiencies to the Quality Manager.
- Follow up on corrective and preventative actions.
- Participate in internal process audits of the Part 145 organisation.
- Conduct regular Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) surveys.
- Conduct induction training for engineers prior to issuance of Part 145 authorisations.
- Assist and escort external auditors conducting audits of the organisation.
- Coordinate and process approved amendments to the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE).
- Maintain personnel maintenance-training records and files.
- Monitor initial issue, renewal and additional ratings for engineer maintenance licences and specialist certificates issued by CASA PNG.
- Coordinate CASA examinations for LAMEs, AMEs and trainees.
- Maintain the Technical Materials approved-vendor register and monitor the validity of vendor approvals.

Requirements
Candidates should demonstrate:
- Significant Quality and Safety qualifications.
- Previous experience or strong exposure in a similar quality inspection, aviation maintenance or MRO environment.
- Large airline experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of effective and efficient organisational operations.
- Knowledge of aviation regulatory and compliance requirements, including CASA regulations, company manuals and safety systems.
- Strong planning, organisational and administrative skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all organisational levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good computer literacy.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to operational requirements.
- Physical fitness and flexibility to work irregular or extended hours where operationally required.
