Scrub Nurse

We are Sisco Jobs, a recruitment consultancy based in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. We are hiring on behalf of our client for the position of Scrub Nurse in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating theatre and required surgical instruments before procedures.
  
• Assist surgeons during orthopaedic and spine surgical procedures.
  
• Maintain sterile fields and follow strict aseptic techniques throughout surgery.
  
• Arrange, count, and manage surgical instruments, sponges, needles, and consumables.
  
• Anticipate the surgeon's instrument and equipment requirements during procedures.
  
• Follow infection-control and patient-safety protocols in the operating theatre.
  
• Check surgical equipment and ensure instruments are properly sterilized and ready for use.
  
• Coordinate with surgeons, anaesthesia teams, nurses, and other OT personnel.
  

Required Skills

1. Scrub Nursing: Practical knowledge of scrub nurse duties and OT procedures.
   
2. Orthopaedic/Spine Surgery Support: Experience assisting with orthopaedic or spine procedures.
   
3. Sterile Technique: Ability to maintain aseptic conditions during surgical procedures.
   
4. Surgical Instrument Handling: Familiarity with preparation and handling of surgical instruments.
   
5. Infection Control: Understanding of OT infection-control and sterilization procedures.
   

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with orthopaedic and spine surgical instruments.
  
• Knowledge of OT equipment preparation and surgical safety protocols.
  
• Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary surgical teams.
  

Work Experience Requirements

Candidates should have 1–3 years of relevant nursing experience. A spine or orthopaedic background is required, with practical exposure to operating-theatre procedures preferred.

Education

• Minimum: Typical qualification — GNM or B.Sc Nursing
  
• Preferred: Typical — B.Sc Nursing with OT/surgical nursing exposure
  
• Additional: Relevant nursing registration/certification, where applicable
