Job Summary
As the Assistant Manager, Compliance, you will support the implementation and effective operation of the Company’s corporate compliance framework. Reporting to the Head of Risk, Compliance & Sustainability, your mission is to ensure the Group adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and industry standards. You will act as a key liaison between business units and regulators, providing the insights needed to maintain sound governance and transparent management decision-making.
Job Responsibilities
1) Corporate Compliance Framework Implementation• Plan the development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of the Company’s corporate compliance framework, including policies, procedures, and guidelines, to ensure continuous alignment with applicable laws, regulations, and internal governance requirements.
• Monitor compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal policy obligations across the Group and its subsidiaries by working closely with business units to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance registers, records, and documentation to support effective governance, audit readiness, and regulatory inspections.
2) Compliance Monitoring, Review & Reporting
• Monitor adherence to compliance requirements, identify potential or actual breaches, and support investigation, assessment, and root cause analysis of compliance issues.
• Prepare clear, accurate, and timely compliance reports, dashboards, and updates for Management, committees, and the Board in accordance with approved reporting schedules.
• Track the implementation of remedial and corrective actions, follow up with responsible parties, and ensure issues are addressed in a timely and sustainable manner.
3) Regulatory & Stakeholder Engagement
• Coordinate and liaise with regulatory authorities, auditors, and relevant external stakeholders on compliance-related matters to ensure transparency and effective communication.
• Support the preparation and submission of regulatory filings, responses, and audit documentation, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with stipulated timelines.
• Facilitate internal coordination with divisions and subsidiaries to address regulatory queries, inspections, and compliance requirements efficiently.
4) Compliance Advisory & Regulatory Intelligence
• Provide compliance advisory support to Management and business units by interpreting regulatory requirements and internal policies and advising on their practical application.
• Monitor emerging regulatory developments, assess their potential impact on the Company’s operations and activities, and highlight key compliance implications.
• Assist in translating new or updated regulatory requirements into internal policies, procedures, and operational controls to support effective implementation.
5) Compliance Awareness & Culture Building
• Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of compliance awareness programmes, briefings, and training sessions to enhance organisational understanding of compliance obligations.
• Promote ethical conduct and integrity by reinforcing compliance expectations and standards across all levels of the organisation.
• Encourage accountability and ownership of compliance responsibilities among employees and key stakeholders through continuous engagement and communication.
6) Undertake any additional assignment as instructed by the Company.
Requirements
• Minimum bachelor’s degree in law, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Governance, Risk & Compliance, or a related discipline.• Professional certification in compliance, governance, or audit (e.g. CGRC, ICA, ICSA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in corporate compliance, governance, audit, or regulatory-related roles.
• Hands-on experience in compliance monitoring, regulatory reporting, and coordination with regulators or auditors.
• Experience supporting internal compliance reviews, policy implementation, and awareness initiatives.Navigating evolving regulatory requirements across multiple operational and functional areas.
• Ensuring consistent compliance implementation across divisions without direct authority.
• Managing compliance reporting and regulatory engagements within tight timelines.
• Balancing advisory, monitoring, and enforcement roles while maintaining constructive stakeholder relationships.
• Supporting a strong compliance culture in a dynamic and fast-paced organisational environment.
• Sound understanding of corporate compliance, governance, and regulatory frameworks.• Strong analytical skills to interpret regulations and assess compliance risks and implications.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external authorities.
• Good documentation, coordination, and reporting capabilities.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
