About Our Client
Our client is an established, independent automotive garage based in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, providing vehicle servicing, maintenance, repairs and diagnostics across a wide range of makes and models.
As part of their continued investment and expansion into electric and hybrid vehicle servicing and repairs, our client is looking to recruit an experienced, multi-skilled EV-qualified Vehicle Technician to join their workshop team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable vehicle technician who enjoys working across traditional internal combustion engine (ICE), hybrid and fully electric vehicles, and wants to be part of a forward-thinking independent garage investing in the future of automotive technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and mechanical repairs across petrol, diesel, hybrid and fully electric vehicles.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and electronic faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
- Undertake repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering, suspension and other vehicle components.
- Diagnose faults relating to hybrid and electric vehicle systems, including high-voltage components, within the technician’s qualifications and competency.
- Carry out electrical fault-finding and diagnostic testing across multiple vehicle makes and models.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high professional standard.
- Follow manufacturer guidelines and appropriate health and safety procedures, particularly when working on high-voltage systems.
- Work collaboratively with other technicians and workshop management to maintain productivity and customer satisfaction.
- Support our client’s ongoing development and expansion of its EV and hybrid vehicle servicing capabilities.
Requirements
Essential Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in vehicle servicing, diagnostics and repairs.
- Proven ability to work across ICE, hybrid and fully electric vehicles.
- Strong mechanical, electrical and diagnostic fault-finding skills.
- Experience working on a variety of vehicle makes and models.
- A solid understanding of modern automotive systems and diagnostic procedures.
- Ability to work independently and accurately diagnose and resolve technical faults.
- A professional attitude, strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Must reside within approximately 15 miles of Worksop, Nottinghamshire.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Ideally, an IMI Level 3 qualification in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Systems.
- A recognised Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
- Practical experience diagnosing and repairing hybrid and electric vehicles.
- Experience working safely around high-voltage vehicle systems.
- Previous experience within an independent, multi-brand automotive workshop.
- A willingness to develop further technical expertise as EV technology continues to evolve.
