The Management Accountant will be responsible for providing accounting and financial support, with a focus on payroll, invoicing, debtors, bank reconciliations, budgeting, financial reporting and audit processes. The role will also involve ensuring accurate financial transactions, monitoring revenue against budget, resolving accounting queries and supporting effective financial controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and oversee monthly payroll.
- Validate invoicing data and prepare monthly invoices and statements.
- Manage debtors and resolve account queries and credit balances.
- Process receipts and direct bank deposits accurately.
- Perform weekly bank reconciliations.
- Liaise with banks regarding financial and debtor-related queries.
- Prepare revenue budgets and rates for invoicing.
- Load approved budgets onto the accounting ERP system.
- Monitor and report on actual revenue against budget.
- Prepare management accounts and financial reports.
- Liaise with auditors on revenue, debtors and budget matters.
- Prepare audit documentation and resolve audit queries.
- Ensure accurate General Ledger processing and reconciliations.
- Apply relevant GRAP and PFMA requirements.
- Supervise and allocate workloads appropriately amongst staff.
- Monitor deliverables, targets and performance requirements.
- Provide accounting solutions and respond to financial enquiries.
- Support the overall financial management and reporting functions of the organisation.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting or an equivalent Accounting qualification at NQF Level 7 or higher.
- 3–5 years’ accounting experience in an Accountant role.
- Experience in sales, debtors, purchases and disbursements.
- Practical experience in payroll processing.
- Experience in General Ledger, reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Completed Articles, with a letter of completion.
- Knowledge and practical application of GRAP requirements.
- Knowledge and practical application of the PFMA.
- Good understanding of accounting processes, budgeting and financial reporting.
