Senior Java Developer

PLEASE NOTE:

• It is Hybrid Position at Bethesda, Maryland
  
• Should be able to visit and meet the client in Bethesda, MD.
  

ROLE SUMNMARY:

• We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to design, build, and maintain enterprise applications.
  
• This role will lead technical implementation, mentor developers, and work with product, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable, secure software.
  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and develop Java applications, REST APIs, and backend services using Spring Boot.
  
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and implementation plans.
  
• Develop database integrations and optimize SQL queries and application performance.
  
• Review code, establish development standards, and mentor junior developers.
  
• Write unit and integration tests and troubleshoot production issues.
  
• Collaborate with QA and DevOps teams on testing, releases, and operational readiness.
  
• Address application security, scalability, and reliability requirements.
  
  

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of professional Java development experience.
  
• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, object-oriented design, and design patterns.
  
• Experience developing REST APIs and working with relational databases.
  
• Proficiency with Git, Maven or Gradle, and automated testing frameworks such as JUnit.
  
• Experience with Agile development and CI/CD processes.
  
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and technical leadership skills.
  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with microservices, messaging systems, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  
• Experience deploying applications to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or another cloud platform.
  
• Familiarity with observability tools and distributed application troubleshooting.
