Job Role: Security Officer (Weekend Evenings)

Working Hours: Friday and Saturday, 20:30-03:30 - 14 hours per week

Pay: £17.01 per hour

Location: Port Solent, The Boardwalk, Portsmouth, PO6 4TP

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Anchor Group Services for an experienced and customer-focused Security Officer to join our security team at Port Solent.

This part-time weekend role is ideal for an individual who enjoys working in a customer-facing environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional service while helping to maintain a safe and welcoming atmosphere.

Port Solent is a vibrant waterfront destination featuring popular restaurants, bars, leisure facilities and retail outlets. As a Security Officer, your primary focus will be customer service, acting as a visible and approachable presence throughout the site, assisting visitors and tenants, answering queries, and supporting the overall customer experience.

Working Friday and Saturday evenings, you will support the core security team during the site's busiest periods, particularly where venues operate with late licences. You will conduct regular patrols, engage positively with visitors, provide assistance where required, and act as an additional resource to help maintain a safe, secure and enjoyable environment for everyone on site.

The successful candidate must hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor licence.

Duties Include:

• Providing a highly visible and professional presence throughout the site.
  
• Delivering excellent customer service to visitors, tenants and staff.
  
• Acting as the first point of contact for customer queries, directions and assistance.
  
• Supporting the site security team during busy weekend trading periods.
  
• Conducting regular foot patrols of the site and reporting any concerns.
  
• Assisting with the management of customer welfare and maintaining a positive environment.
  
• Monitoring site activity and helping to identify and address potential issues at an early stage.
  
• Responding appropriately to incidents and escalating where necessary.
  
• Liaising professionally with site management, tenants, emergency services and members of the public.
  
• Supporting venues operating under late licences and assisting with maintaining a safe environment.
  
• Completing accurate reports, incident logs and daily records as required.
  
• Ensuring compliance with site procedures, company policies and relevant legislation.
  

Requirements

• Full 5-year employment checkable history – ESSENTIAL
  
• Valid frontline SIA Door Supervisor Licence – ESSENTIAL
  
• Ability to reliably commute to Port Solent, PO6 4TP.
  
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  
• Previous experience in a customer-facing security role preferred.
  
• Confident and professional when dealing with members of the public.
  
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
  
• Reliable, punctual and flexible.
  
• Smart appearance and professional manner.
  
• Strong observational and reporting skills.
  
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
