Position Overview
Oxiliry (Private) Limited's Legal Department maintains an ongoing talent pipeline for Assistant Legal Counsel positions in Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore. The Assistant Legal Counsel is a substantive member of the Legal Department and supports the Director, International Legal Affairs in managing a diverse portfolio of corporate, commercial, transactional, litigation, employment, regulatory, and other legal matters.
The role requires strong legal research and drafting ability, sound professional judgment, ownership of assigned matters, effective stakeholder communication, and the ability to work within established Legal Department standards, workflows, and escalation protocols.
Core Responsibilities

Legal Matter Management: Handle and support assigned corporate, commercial, transactional, litigation, employment, regulatory, and other legal matters within delegated authority and under appropriate supervision.

Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough legal and regulatory research, identify relevant legal and commercial risks, and prepare clear, practical analyses and recommendations.

Drafting and Contract Review: Draft, review, revise, and negotiate contracts, correspondence, pleadings, responses, corporate documents, regulatory filings, and other legal instruments.

Litigation and Dispute Support: Coordinate litigation and dispute matters, including working with external counsel, maintaining case records, monitoring deadlines, and supporting litigation strategy and execution.

Risk Assessment: Identify and assess legal, regulatory, contractual, and operational risks and assist in developing practical mitigation strategies.

Business Support: Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide timely, practical legal support within the scope of the role.

Legal Operations and Knowledge Management: Maintain accurate matter records, follow Legal Department workflows and service standards, contribute to knowledge management, and support continuous improvement of legal processes.

Stakeholder Communication: Provide timely, clear, and appropriately documented updates on assigned matters and escalate material issues in accordance with established protocols.

Team Contribution: Work collaboratively with other members of the Legal Department and contribute to a culture of ownership, professional development, accountability, and continuous learning.
Required Qualifications
Education: LL.B. or equivalent recognized law degree.
Experience: Approximately 3–4 years of post-qualification legal experience, preferably with a reputable law firm, corporate legal department, or a combination of both.
