Salary: 80,000-100,000

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Google Ads Specialist to join a fast-growing, Perth-based digital agency specialising in SEO, GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation), Google Ads, web design and AI automation. This is not a generalist marketing role. We want a true Google Ads expert who lives and breathes paid search, knows the platform inside out, and will take full ownership of the agency’s Google Ads accounts across a growing client portfolio.

The successful candidate will work with minimal supervision, proactively identify opportunities, and bring fresh ideas and best practices to the team—not just match the agency’s current level of expertise, but raise it. Experience driving direct bookings for hotels, resorts and accommodation providers is a major advantage. Over time, the role will grow to include client-facing communication and strategy discussions.

As a Senior Google Ads Specialist:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business or a related discipline is preferred.

Minimum of 4–5 years of hands-on Google Ads experience, managing campaigns end-to-end at a senior level.

Agency experience managing multiple client accounts and budgets simultaneously is strongly preferred.

Proven experience in the hotel, resort, travel or hospitality space—particularly driving direct bookings, Performance Max for travel and Hotel Ads—is highly desirable.

Deep expertise across Search, Performance Max, Display, YouTube/Video, Demand Gen and Shopping campaigns.

Strong command of bidding strategies, audience targeting, keyword research, negative keyword management and ad copy testing.

Advanced knowledge of conversion tracking and measurement using Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, enhanced conversions and offline conversion imports.

Comfortable using Google Ads Editor, scripts, Looker Studio and third-party PPC tools for automation, reporting and optimisation.

Current Google Ads certifications in Search, Display, Video, Shopping and Measurement are preferred.

A demonstrable track record of improving ROAS, CPA and conversion volume, with case studies or results you can discuss.

Solid knowledge of SEO and GEO/AI search optimisation is a strong advantage, as you may support the SEO team over time.

Familiarity with GoHighLevel or similar CRM/marketing automation platforms is a plus.

Excellent written and spoken English, with the confidence to explain performance and recommendations clearly to stakeholders and, eventually, clients.

Highly self-driven, reliable and organised, able to own outcomes without micromanagement.

Your Responsibilities as a Senior Google Ads Specialist would be:

Take full ownership of all Google Ads accounts, from strategy and setup through daily management and optimisation.

Plan, build and launch new campaigns aligned with each client’s goals, including direct-booking campaigns for hotel and resort clients.

Conduct in-depth account audits and competitor analysis to uncover wasted spend and growth opportunities.

Continuously optimise bids, budgets, keywords, audiences, ad copy, assets and landing page alignment to maximise ROAS and conversions.

Set up, test and maintain accurate conversion tracking and attribution across GA4, Google Tag Manager and connected platforms.

Run structured A/B tests on ads, extensions, bidding strategies and landing pages, and document learnings.

Prepare clear performance reports and dashboards, translating data into actionable insights and recommendations.

Proactively recommend new strategies, features and best practices, keeping the team informed of Google Ads platform updates and industry trends.

Collaborate with the SEO, web development and automation teams to align paid search with organic, GEO and conversion rate optimisation efforts.

Support SEO and GEO initiatives as required, including keyword research, on-page recommendations, content briefs and technical checks.

Over time, liaise directly with clients to present results, discuss strategy and manage expectations.

Manage budgets and pacing across multiple accounts to ensure spend is efficient and on target.

Google Ads accounts are managed proactively, with campaigns aligned to client objectives and budgets.

Campaign optimisation decisions are supported by accurate tracking, analysis and documented testing.

Performance reporting is clear, timely and translates data into practical recommendations.

Budgets are paced effectively and opportunities to improve ROAS, CPA and conversion volume are identified and actioned.

The specialist stays current with platform changes and contributes practical ideas and best practices to the wider team.
