General Manager – Luxury Hotel | Nosy Be, Madagascar

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to oversee the operations of a luxury hotel in Nosy Be, Madagascar. This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality leader with a strong operational background, excellent commercial awareness and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences in an international luxury environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall performance of the property, ensuring operational excellence, financial sustainability, high service standards and effective team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring all departments function efficiently and to the highest standards.
  

• Lead, motivate and develop the management team and hotel staff, fostering a culture of professionalism and accountability.
  

• Ensure exceptional guest experiences through personalised service and consistent attention to detail.
  

• Monitor guest feedback, address complaints professionally and implement improvements where necessary.
  

• Manage budgets, financial performance, revenue generation and operational expenditure.
  

• Drive occupancy, profitability and overall business performance through effective planning and commercial strategies.
  

• Oversee front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, maintenance and other operational departments.
  

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, hygiene standards and relevant local legislation.
  

• Develop and implement operational procedures to improve efficiency and maintain luxury service standards.
  

• Manage recruitment, staff training, performance reviews and workforce planning.
  

• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, business partners and other stakeholders.
  

• Monitor stock control, purchasing and cost management across the property.
  

• Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to strengthen the hotel's market position and attract new business.
  

• Prepare operational reports and provide regular updates on performance, challenges and business opportunities.
  

• Represent the property professionally and uphold its reputation within the luxury hospitality market.
  

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a General Manager or in a senior hotel management position within a luxury hotel, resort or comparable hospitality establishment.
  

• A relevant hospitality or hotel management qualification would be advantageous.
  

• Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting and cost control.
  

• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and motivate multicultural teams.
  

• Excellent knowledge of hotel operations, guest relations and luxury service standards.
  

• Strong commercial awareness and a track record of improving operational and financial performance.
  

• Exceptional communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
  

• The ability to manage multiple departments and make sound operational decisions.
  

• A proactive, hands-on management style with a strong focus on guest satisfaction.
  

• Adaptability and willingness to relocate to an international island destination.
  

• Experience working in remote resort or island environments would be advantageous.
  

Salary: USD 2,000 – USD 5,000 per month, depending on experience.
