The Opportunity

A leading national Architecture & Engineering firm is seeking a Director of Mechanical Engineering to lead practice growth, direct multidisciplinary teams, and manage mechanical design operations for high-velocity commercial rollout programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical engineering operations, project staffing, and QA/QC across national commercial accounts.
• Drive business development, nurture client partnerships, and negotiate proposals and contracts.
• Mentor, manage, and scale a team of Senior Program Managers and engineering staff.
• Manage project margins, discipline budgets, and operational performance metrics.
• Leverage modern digital workflows and approved AI tools to enhance team productivity and delivery speed.

Required Qualifications

• Education & Licensure: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with an active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Experience: 15+ years of mechanical engineering experience within an A/E/C consulting firm.
• Leadership: 8+ years of direct people management and project oversight.
• Sector Background: Proven track record in multisite commercial programs (retail, restaurant, grocery).
• Software: Working familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit design environments.
