Lodge Manager – Luxury River Lodge – Tanzania

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Lodge Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a luxury river lodge in Tanzania.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on hospitality professional with strong leadership and operational experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experiences, maintaining high service standards and leading the lodge team effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Overseeing the daily operations of the lodge
  

• Managing and motivating the lodge team to deliver exceptional service
  

• Ensuring consistently high standards across all guest-facing and operational departments
  

• Managing guest relations and ensuring personalised guest experiences
  

• Handling guest feedback and resolving concerns professionally
  

• Coordinating lodge activities, meals, transfers and daily guest requirements
  

• Monitoring operational standards, stock levels and general lodge maintenance
  

• Managing staff performance, training and development
  

• Working closely with senior management to achieve operational and financial objectives
  

• Ensuring compliance with health, safety and hygiene standards
  

• Maintaining a professional and welcoming lodge environment
  

• Assisting with budgeting, cost control and general administration where required
  

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Lodge Manager or senior hospitality management position
  

• Strong experience within a luxury lodge or remote hospitality environment
  

• Excellent leadership and team management skills
  

• Strong guest relations and communication abilities
  

• Sound understanding of lodge operations and service standards
  

• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
  

• Financial and administrative awareness
  

• Hands-on approach with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment
  

• Professional, confident and guest-focused personality
  

• Flexibility to work extended hours when operationally required
