AS400 Developer

Summary

We are seeking an experienced AS400 Developer to join our IT Services team. In this critical role, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing legacy systems while ensuring optimal production performance. The position demands a professional who can effectively bridge the gap between technical execution and business needs, providing robust application support and driving troubleshooting initiatives. This role is vital for sustaining operational continuity and delivering high-quality solutions within a dynamic technology environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive application and production support for AS400/iSeries environments to ensure system stability.
  
• Execute advanced debugging and troubleshooting procedures to identify root causes of technical issues and implement effective resolutions.
  
• Manage stakeholder relationships by communicating technical updates, progress reports, and solution strategies clearly.
  
• Utilize core programming languages including RPGLE and CLLE to develop, modify, and maintain business applications.
  
• Employ SYNON (CA 2E) for source code analysis and refactoring to improve code quality and efficiency.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical deliverables with business requirements and project goals.
  

Requirements

Requirements:

• Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in AS400/iSeries development and support.
  
• Proven expertise in RPGLE and CLLE programming within the IBM i platform.
  
• Strong proficiency in application support, production monitoring, and incident resolution.
  
• Demonstrated ability to perform complex debugging and system troubleshooting.
  
• Excellent stakeholder management capabilities with a focus on clear and professional communication.
  
• Familiarity with CA 2E (SYNON) tools for development lifecycle management.
