Senior Health and Safety Advisor - Renewable Infrastructure
Advertised location: Sydney, NSW. This role supports regional renewable construction; travel and the project roster apply as described below.
About the Employer
Our client is an engineering and construction business working across transport, defence and major infrastructure. It combines project delivery expertise with a focus on collaboration, technical improvement and sustainable outcomes.
The Opportunity
Provide senior safety advice on a solar infrastructure project in the NSW Upper Hunter Valley, supporting the project Safety Manager and delivery teams. This is a rostered site-based DIDO position, with accommodation and allowances where applicable.
Your Responsibilities
- Review risk registers and safety plans and implement integrated management-system controls.
- Coach contractors on safe work methods, permits, inductions, pre-starts and plant checks.
- Coordinate training, emergency procedures and competence verification.
- Inspect high-risk work, equipment and site records and support fitness-for-work monitoring.
- Prepare management-system audits, reports and corrective-action tracking.
- Support incident prevention and practical collaboration with project stakeholders.
Requirements
Skills, Education and Requirements
- A diploma or advanced diploma in HSE, Business or a related discipline is essential; a related degree is preferred.
- Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety and a current C-class driver’s licence.
- At least six years as an HSE practitioner.
- A return-to-work coordinator certificate.
- Training and assessment, quality/safety lead internal auditor and lead ICAM credentials are desirable.
- Knowledge of statutory requirements across jurisdictions.
- Experience in audits, corrective-action reporting and delivery of safety training.
- Effective communication and leadership.
