Cloud & Databases Engineer

Nextlink Solutions is looking for an passionated Cloud Engineer with Databases expertise to administer, configure and optimise enterprise cloud infrastructure and database environments.

You will support Microsoft Azure and AWS platforms, providing Level 2/3 operational support. Provisioning and maintaining virtual machines, cloud storage and databases deployed both on-premises and in the cloud you will ensure high availability, performance and operational reliability.

A strong knowledge of database management systems, cloud networking, monitoring and logging solutions is required, together with excellent analytical, troubleshooting and communication capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and configure enterprise-wide Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud environments
  
• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for cloud-related incidents
  
  
• Provision, maintain and optimise virtual machines, storage resources and database environments across cloud and on-premises infrastructure
  
  
• Ensure infrastructure availability, performance and operational stability
  
  
• Manage and optimise cloud components and resource utilisation
  
  
• Automate deployment, configuration and management of Azure and AWS resources using Terraform or equivalent tools.
  
  
• Develop and maintain Python, Bash or PowerShell scripts to automate routine operational activities
  
  
• Support CI/CD processes and DevOps practices
  
  
• Support incident resolution and collaborate effectively with technical teams, users and stakeholders.
  
  

Requirements

• NATO Secret security clearance
  
• Experience administering and configuring enterprise Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud environments.
  
• Experience with IaaS and PaaS across AWS and Azure.
  
• Experience managing DB systems in cloud and on prem.
  
• Experience troubleshooting virtual machines, cloud storage accounts and virtual networks.
  
• Proven ability to investigate and resolve complex cloud-related incidents, providing Level 2 and Level 3 operational support.
  
• Experience automating cloud infrastructure deployment and resource management using Terraform.
  
• Ability to develop operational automation scripts using Python, Bash or PowerShell for routine administration, backups, instance management and scaling.
  
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools
