Analytics Assistant - Entry Level

Olive Tree Consulting is currently supporting a client that is a global technology company. We are looking for an Analytics Assistant to help our team process the information that informs our management advice. This entry level position is a full time, fully remote role focused on turning raw data into the clear, written records our clients use to manage their teams more effectively.

About the Role
At Olive Tree, we help companies bridge the gap between their high level strategy and their daily execution. This role exists to support our consultants by making sense of the data behind those daily operations. When a client finds that their decisions are being reopened or their priorities are stalling, we look at the structural habits causing the friction. The Analytics Assistant helps us find the patterns in these habits. You will be responsible for gathering and organizing data points that help us show a leadership team exactly where their process is breaking down. This is not about building complex, automated dashboards for the sake of it: it is about providing the plain facts needed to make work easier to lead.

What You Will Do

• Clean and organize raw data sets from various client internal systems to ensure accuracy.
• Build and maintain simple spreadsheets that track management metrics, such as decision turnaround times and project handoffs.
• Assist consultants in drafting the data driven sections of our written advisory notes.
• Verify that the numbers in our final reports match the source data exactly.
• Identify recurring bottlenecks in client workflows by looking at project completion data.
• Support the creation of the smallest possible written records to help clients track ownership and follow up tasks.
• Help the internal team prepare for client reviews by summarizing key findings from recent data updates.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our internal data gathering templates.

What We Are Looking For
We need someone who is comfortable with the quiet, focused work of organizing information. You should have a high level of attention to detail and a genuine interest in how organizations work. Since this is a fully remote position, you must be someone who can manage your own time well and communicate clearly through writing. We value people who prefer plain English over corporate jargon and who care more about being useful than being polished. You should be comfortable asking questions when data looks inconsistent and be willing to learn how we translate numbers into management advice.

Helpful Background

• Basic familiarity with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, including common formulas and pivot tables.
• Exposure to data visualization tools through university projects or personal study.
• Introductory knowledge of how databases work or how to structure information for reporting.
• Strong writing skills and the ability to explain a data point in a single, clear sentence.
• A background in business, social sciences, or any field that requires logical reasoning and analysis.
• Prior experience in a remote environment, whether through an internship or university group work.
