Senior Tax Accounting

This is a remote position.

As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them navigate complex tax matters while ensuring compliance and identifying tax-saving opportunities. You will work directly with business owners, individuals, and professional service firms, managing engagements from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review Federal and State tax returns for Individuals, Partnerships, S-Corporations, Corporations, and LLCs
• Perform proactive tax planning, tax projections, and year-end tax reviews
• Research tax issues and provide guidance on tax implications and compliance matters
• Review bookkeeping records, general ledger activity, and financial transactions to ensure accuracy
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, account reconciliations, and adjusting journal entries
• Review payroll tax filings and related compliance documentation
• Identify opportunities to improve clients' tax positions and operational efficiencies
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and communication
• Independently manage multiple engagements while meeting deadlines and quality expectations
• Collaborate with partners and team members on specialized tax and accounting projects

Requirements

Qualifications:

✅ Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field

✅ 5-8+ years of Public Accounting experience

✅ Strong experience preparing and reviewing:

• Individual Tax Returns (1040)
• Partnership Returns (1065)
• Corporate Returns (1120/1120S)
• LLC and Small Business Tax Returns

✅ Solid understanding of tax compliance, tax planning, and accounting principles

✅ Experience reviewing bookkeeping and financial statements

✅ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

✅ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

✅ Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications:

⭐ CPA designation (active or in progress)

⭐ Experience working in a small-to-mid-sized CPA firm

⭐ Proficiency with QuickBooks Online

⭐ Experience with UltraTax or similar tax software

⭐ Experience working with healthcare, dental, or professional service clients is a plus
