Site Carpenter

Our client, a well-established construction company based in VI, Lagos, is currently seeking an on-site Construction Carpenter for their current projects in Lagos. The Construction Carpenter will be responsible for shaping, installing, and repairing wooden structures or fixtures across various sites. Attention to detail, precision, and a strong understanding of construction principles are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and construction plans to determine the scope of work and required materials.
  
• Install structures, including framing, walls, partitions, and roofing systems, ensuring proper alignment, fit, and adherence to building codes and safety regulations.
  
• Construct and install interior and exterior finishes, including trims, moldings, casings, doors, and windows for a polished and professional appearance.
  
• Collaborate with other construction professionals, such as architects and contractors, to ensure efficient project execution and resolve any construction issues or modifications.
  
• Inspect structures to identify and correct any defects or deficiencies, ensuring compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  
• Repair or replace damaged or worn-out wooden structures, fixtures, or furniture.
  
• Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents or injuries.
  
• Stay updated with industry trends, technology advancements, and building codes to enhance skills and knowledge.
  

Requirements

• HND / OND in a related field or completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training in carpentry.
  
• Proven experience as a Construction Carpenter or similar role.
  
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
  
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  
• Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding tasks.
  
• Attention to safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
