Full-Time Registered Dietitian Position — Direct Hire
RD Nutrition Consultants LLC is assisting a critical access hospital in South Bend, Washington, with recruiting a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist for a full-time, permanent position. The selected candidate will be employed directly by the hospital.

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday

Employment Type: Permanent, direct hire with the hospital

Compensation: $37.70–$45.60 per hour, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

Complete nutrition screenings and comprehensive assessments using patient histories, laboratory findings, weight trends, and clinical information.

Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nutrition care plans for patients with diabetes, cardiovascular disease, renal conditions, and other nutritional needs.

Provide medical nutrition therapy across inpatient acute care, outpatient services, the Diabetes Program, and cardiac rehabilitation.

Deliver diabetes self-management education and nutrition counseling that supports practical behavior changes, individualized goals, and ongoing follow-up.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, rehabilitation staff, and food services personnel to coordinate care and nutrition support, including enteral and parenteral therapies.

Document assessments, interventions, patient progress, and follow-up plans accurately and promptly in the electronic health record.

Partner with the food services team to review patient menus, support therapeutic diet requirements, and maintain the hospital’s dietary manual.

Support compliance with applicable food safety, nutrition services, and diabetes education program standards.

Participate in quality improvement activities and contribute to updates in program policies, procedures, and care practices.

Provide nutrition and diabetes education to hospital staff and participate in community education initiatives.

Coordinate with program leadership and revenue cycle personnel to support appropriate documentation and billing.

Complete additional responsibilities related to the position and within professional scope of practice.

Current Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

Appropriate state credentials for practice in Washington.

Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a closely related field is preferred.

Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) or Board Certified–Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM) credential preferred.

Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, and individualized nutrition care planning.

Ability to provide effective diabetes education and support patients in setting achievable self-management goals.

Familiarity with enteral and parenteral nutrition support.

Strong communication, clinical judgment, and organizational skills.

Proficiency with electronic health records and timely clinical documentation.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary team.

Ability to prioritize responsibilities across multiple clinical programs in a community hospital setting.
