We are looking for a detail-oriented and passionate Software Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience testing web applications, creating test plans and test artifacts, tracking defects, and collaborating with the development team to deliver high-quality software. Exposure to the power and energy domain is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Review software requirements and prepare test scenarios, test plans, test cases, and other testing artifacts.
• Perform functional, end-to-end, boundary-value, corner-case, and usability testing of web applications.
• Conduct REST API testing using tools such as Postman.
• Use test management and defect-tracking tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps (ADO) to manage test activities, record defects, and track their status.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and report findings clearly to the development and design teams.
• Understand and apply defect severity and priority concepts to help assess and prioritize issues.
• Validate database impacts and investigate errors or unexpected application behaviour.
• Prepare clear test execution reports and maintain testing documentation.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate with clients to understand product requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and develop skills in test automation.

Requirements

• 2.5+ years of experience in software testing, with good hands-on skills in testing web applications.
• Knowledge of REST API testing using tools such as Postman.
• Ability to write effective end-to-end, boundary-value, and corner-case test cases.
• Exposure to test management and defect-tracking tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps (ADO).
• Understanding of how to create test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and other testing artifacts.
• Understanding of defect life cycle, severity, and prioritization.
• Good analytical, critical-thinking, communication, and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to take ownership of assigned work and communicate directly with clients when required.
• Willingness to learn and grow into test automation.
• Knowledge of performance and load testing of web applications is an added advantage.
• Exposure to or experience in the power systems, energy, or utilities domain is an added advantage. (good to have)
• Candidates who have completed relevant software testing courses are preferred.
• Immediate joiners or candidates available to join within two weeks are preferred.
