Seeking a Compassionate Customer Service Technician- Medical Equipment in Menominee, MI
Impact to Health is seeking a compassionate Customer Service Technician committed to improving patient health, comfort, and confidence through exceptional support and hands‑on care. In this role, you deliver, set up, and maintain essential medical equipment while providing clear, empathetic education that helps patients and caregivers feel safe and supported at home. You also serve as a reassuring voice over the phone and in person—guiding patients, answering questions, and ensuring their needs are met with dignity, patience, and respect. Every interaction you have, whether on the road or in the office, directly contributes to better health outcomes and a more positive care experience.
Work Schedule: 8am-5pm
On-Call Duties: biweekly
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver, set up, and maintain medical equipment with a patient‑first mindset, ensuring each interaction reflects compassion, respect, and attentiveness.
- Provide supportive, easy‑to‑understand education to patients and caregivers on equipment use, safety, and maintenance—empowering them to feel confident and secure in their care.
- Offer kind, patient‑centered customer service over the phone and in person, helping individuals navigate questions, concerns, and equipment needs with reassurance.
- Complete all delivery forms, documentation, and patient instructions accurately to support continuity of care and safe equipment use.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized company vehicle to ensure reliable service for patients.
- Coordinate insurance verification with care and accuracy, helping patients understand coverage and reducing stress during the intake process.
- Manage intake responsibilities—including answering calls, receiving referrals, collecting patient information, and preparing charts—with empathy and professionalism.
- Observe and communicate additional patient needs, advocating for their comfort, safety, and wellbeing.
- Prepare accurate files, tickets, and documentation for billing, routing, and daily operations to support seamless patient care.
- Provide courteous, compassionate service to walk‑in patients and referral sources, ensuring every person feels valued and supported.
- Troubleshoot equipment concerns with patience and clarity, helping patients feel reassured and safe.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of medical equipment, supplies, and regulations to deliver high‑quality, reliable support.
- Participate in on‑call assignments as needed, offering calm, empathetic assistance during after‑hours needs.
- Work cooperatively with team members to coordinate deliveries and ensure timely, compassionate patient service.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support patient health, comfort, and overall care experience.
Travel
- Travel via company/personal vehicle required to patient’s homes for set-ups and reoccurring delivery
- Use of a personal vehicle may be required for deliveries, all miles driven for company purposes will be eligible mileage reimbursement
Requirements
Qualifications:
Required Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent, required
- Valid driver’s license in state of residence with a clean driving record
Preferred Education and/or Experience
- Experience with medical equipment, preferred
- One year of related work experience, preferred
- Medical terminology, preferred
Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a background check, drug screening, compliance onboarding, and credentialing requirements, as well as maintaining a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record when applicable to the position.
