Senior Sourcing Recruiter

Location: Remote (U.S.-based candidates only)

Reports To: Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition

Compensation: $60-$70/hr, 40 hours/week

About the Role

An established technology company serving the aerospace, defense, and intelligence communities is hiring a Senior Sourcing Recruiter. The company brings together engineers, scientists, program managers, and business professionals to solve complex problems and deliver high-performance solutions for critical missions.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition, this role identifies, engages, and builds pipelines of highly qualified candidates across the organization. The primary focus is niche and difficult-to-fill technical positions, including engineering, software, systems, hardware, FPGA, program management, data, and other specialized disciplines. The role will also support select corporate and business searches as needed.

The ideal candidate is an exceptional researcher who knows how to find people who are not actively applying to jobs. You will use advanced sourcing techniques, creative research strategies, talent mapping, networking, and multiple recruiting platforms to identify and engage hard-to-reach talent.

Sourcing Strategy and Research

• Develop and execute targeted sourcing strategies for niche, specialized, and difficult-to-fill technical and corporate positions.
• Conduct extensive research using advanced Boolean search techniques, LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, applicant tracking systems, talent databases, professional networks, online communities, and other channels to identify highly qualified passive candidates.
• Build and maintain targeted talent pipelines, talent pools, and market maps for recurring and hard-to-fill skill sets.

Partnership and Candidate Engagement

• Partner closely with recruiters and hiring managers to understand position requirements, technical disciplines, target companies, geographic markets, and ideal candidate profiles, and translate them into effective sourcing strategies.
• Proactively engage passive candidates through personalized outreach that clearly communicates the opportunity, the organization, and the career value proposition.
• Conduct initial qualification conversations with sourced candidates to assess relevant experience, interest, availability, compensation expectations, and overall alignment with the opportunity.

Data, Metrics, and Sourcing Expertise

• Maintain accurate candidate activity and sourcing data within the applicant tracking system.
• Track sourcing metrics and use data and market intelligence to continuously improve sourcing strategies.
• Serve as a sourcing subject matter expert and resource to the recruiting team.
• Stay current on emerging sourcing technologies, recruiting tools, market trends, and innovative talent identification techniques.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of recruiting and/or talent sourcing experience, with significant experience sourcing candidates for technical or specialized positions.
• US Person
• Experience sourcing for aerospace, defense, space, intelligence, or other highly technical industries.
• Experience recruiting for engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, systems, software, embedded software, FPGA, RF, cybersecurity, or related fields.
• Demonstrated success sourcing passive candidates for difficult-to-fill and highly specialized roles.
• Advanced knowledge of Boolean search techniques and internet research methodologies.
• Strong experience with LinkedIn Recruiter and other sourcing and recruiting platforms.
• Ability to understand and effectively source against complex technical requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly when engaging passive candidates.
• Ability to manage multiple searches and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate candidate and sourcing data.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with recruiters, hiring managers, and other stakeholders.

Preferred

• Experience developing talent maps, competitive intelligence, or market research for recruiting.
• Experience using sourcing automation, AI-enabled recruiting tools, talent intelligence platforms, or other emerging recruiting technologies.
• Familiarity with government contracting and/or security clearance requirements.
• Experience sourcing candidates for both technical and corporate functions.
