Position Summary

As the DevOps Lead, you will assume complete responsibility for DrinkPrime's infrastructure and deployment roadmap from conception to execution. Your mandate involves evaluating the existing technical landscape to pinpoint deficiencies and constructing a comprehensive deployment framework from the ground up. This scope includes establishing CI/CD workflows, managing environment configurations, securing secrets and access protocols, implementing observability solutions, and enforcing disaster recovery and zero-downtime deployment standards. You will hold full accountability and decision-making power regarding the organization's infrastructure strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct a thorough analysis of DrinkPrime's current infrastructure and deployment mechanisms to design a cohesive, modern architecture for future operations.
  
• Manage the entire CI/CD lifecycle, overseeing processes from code commit through to production release, including the enforcement of testing and quality assurance checkpoints.
  
• Develop and execute a robust strategy for managing secrets securely across all service layers.
  
• Architect a multi-environment strategy covering development, quality assurance, staging, and production, ensuring strict isolation between each stage.
  
• Establish and maintain comprehensive observability frameworks, including monitoring systems, alerting protocols, and visualization dashboards for all live services.
  
• Facilitate the infrastructure requirements for services migrating away from the core backend, addressing needs such as service discovery, independent deployment capabilities, and dedicated data storage.
  
• Manage and maintain infrastructure-as-code implementations for every operational environment.
  
• Assess existing tools and vendor relationships, recommending consolidation efforts to eliminate redundancy and overlap.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Extensive, practical expertise in cloud infrastructure platforms (specifically AWS and GCP) alongside container orchestration systems like Kubernetes and Helm.
  
• Demonstrated history of designing and leading end-to-end deployment architectures for production environments, preferably involving the modernization of legacy systems.
  
• Proficiency in CI/CD tooling and the architectural design of efficient deployment pipelines.
  
• Strong background in secrets management and adherence to cloud security best practices.
  
• Experience building observability solutions from the ground up using tools such as Grafana, Sentry, or Prometheus, rather than merely utilizing pre-existing dashboards.
  
• Competence in infrastructure-as-code methodologies utilizing tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent technologies.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven track record of overhauling legacy deployment setups to achieve a fully modernized infrastructure.
  
• Experience facilitating the transition from monolithic structures to microservices, specifically regarding infrastructure components like service discovery, API gateways, and message brokers.
  
• Background in conducting infrastructure or vendor audits to streamline tooling ecosystems.
  
• Previous experience within small to mid-sized engineering teams, successfully scaling infrastructure to support organizational growth.
