Your role

The Research Facilitator / Project Coordinator will have two equally weighted areas of responsibility: facilitating research projects with the researchers of the Faculty, and acting as project coordinator in the framework of the National Centre of Excellence in Research in Financial Technologies (NCER-FT).

As Research Facilitator, you will report to the Team Leader - Grant Management and Finance Unit and

  • Ensure facilitation, advisory, coordination and liaison activities related to research management of the Faculty
  • Advise FDEF researchers in the identification, acquisition and management of research grants from different funding agencies and programmes (e.g. EU, FNR, etc.)
  • Guide the researchers through the entire grant life cycle from proposal preparation (incl. budgets) to project execution, reporting and closing
  • Contribute to grant agreement negotiations with funding body and external partners
  • Ensure quality assurance and compliance of projects and grants with requirements from internal and/or external stakeholders
  • Advise on financial and human resources allocation
  • Be an interface with representatives of funding agencies
  • Foster internal communication and cooperation with other units of the Faculty, with other faculties and interdisciplinary centers as well as with the University central administration
  • Track, document and report research-related information and data for internal and/or external stakeholders
  • Contribute to knowledge and best practices sharing and dissemination with the team as well as with other entities at the University

More specifically related to your role as FDEF research facilitator/ project coordinator on the National Centre of Excellence in Research in Financial Technologies (NCER-FT), you will

  • Support the coordination of activities
  • Monitor related project budgets and coordinate the preparation of various reports
  • Gather project data
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation including status reports
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance and funder requirements
  • Maintain project management tools and files
  • Collaborate closely with project team and with FDEF research community

Your profile

  • Master degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in reviewing grant proposals and in grant management
  • Good knowledge of Luxembourgish and EU funding programs; e.g. FNR, Horizon Europe
  • Project management skills and knowledge of project management principles and best practices
  • Experience in the fintech sector
  • Previous exposure to topics such as law, finance or economics would be considered an advantage

Language Requirements: Excellent command of English (C1) and excellent command of either French or German (C1), both orally and in writing; good working knowledge of Luxembourgish (B1) would be considered an advantage.
