Heavy Equipment Technician (CAT / Diagnosis / Maintenance) South America

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Technician with strong knowledge of Caterpillar (CAT) machinery. The technician will inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy construction/mining equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair CAT construction and heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, and skid steers.
  
• Troubleshoot diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, transmissions, and powertrains.
  
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, component replacements, and equipment rebuilds.
  
• Use CAT Electronic Technician (CAT ET), SIS, diagnostic tools, and service manuals.
  
• Complete field-service and shop repairs as required.
  
• Document repairs, parts used, labor hours, and inspection findings.
  
• Follow manufacturer specifications and company safety procedures.
  
• Communicate equipment status and repair recommendations to supervisors and customers.
  

Requirements

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience repairing CAT or comparable heavy equipment.
  
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and powertrains.
  
• Experience using CAT ET or similar diagnostic software preferred.
  
• Ability to read electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and technical manuals.
  
• Ability to independently diagnose and resolve mechanical problems.
