Onsite Provisioning Engineer – Servers & Data Center_JP

Overview & Responsibilities

• Overview: Manage end-to-end server provisioning and data center (DC) build activities—from initial whitespace setup to final handover—ensuring adherence to DC standards, safety, and compliance requirements.
  

• Execute end-to-end data center build activities from whitespace to handover.
  

• Perform server provisioning, including rack & stack, hardware installation, and OS deployment.
  

• Manage structured cabling (copper and fiber), patching, and labeling according to DC standards.
  

• Install and configure DC infrastructure components such as racks, PDUs, power strips, and ATS.
  

• Support both high-level (network, connectivity) and low-level (physical installation, cabling) services.
  

• Coordinate with internal teams, stakeholders, and external vendors (requiring Japanese fluency) for project execution.
  

• Conduct testing, validation, and maintain accurate documentation for assets, layouts, configurations, and provisioning activities.
  

• Troubleshoot onsite issues related to servers, power, and connectivity.
  

Requirements

Qualifications: Years of Experience & Tech Stack

• Years of Experience: 3–6 years of experience in data center provisioning and server deployment.
  

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in IT, Electronics, or a related field.
  

• Tech Stack & Systems:
  

  • OS/Systems: Linux/Windows (basics preferred).
    

  • DC Power & Infrastructure: PDUs, power strips, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), equipment racks.
    

  • Cabling: Structured cabling (copper and fiber).
    

  • Networking: IP addressing, VLANs, connectivity fundamentals.
    

Preferred Skills / Advantage

• Experience working in large-scale or colocation data centers.
  

• Familiarity with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools or asset management systems.
  

• Relevant certifications in networking or systems (e.g., CCNA, server certifications).
